About this course

This one day course provides an ideal introduction for Podiatrists on the topic of foot and ankle musculoskeletal ultrasound. All participants will complete the day knowing what ultrasound can visualise, the skills required, how it can impact practice and the next steps for developing competency.

Initially covering basic physics and safety principles of ultrasound use before covering core probe skills techniques and how to generate a high quality musculoskeletal ultrasound image. Commonly encountered peripheral musculoskeletal structures around the ankle and foot will be covered alongside case study examples of pathology, giving delegates a thorough appreciation of the role ultrasound can play in assisting with clinical practice.

This course acts as a perfect taster to help delegates understand more about the topic and what this may offer, prior to embarking on a formal training program provided by CASE or a University.

The Introduction to diagnostic MSK ultrasound course takes place at the Mary Seacole Building, Brunel University London,  8 Kingston Ln, Uxbridge UB8 3PN  View Location Maps

This course will serve as excellent preparation if you are considering applying for an MSK Ultrasound PG Cert/CASE course or just want to get more of an idea on what ultrasound offers.

Small group working (max 3 per group) throughout the day on a mixture of ultrasound systems. This will provide you with a great opportunity to trial different styles and brands of ultrasound systems.

Pathology case study images  and videos will be discussed and introduced at points throughout the day to further enhance your learning experience.

Ideally suited for:

Podiatrists keen to explore what ultrasound can offer your practice, prior to considering more formal training.
